Default The Strangest Thing Ever in a Skylane!!!

On Wednesday afternoon (April 25th, 2012) I decided to try FSX again. I had loaded Skagit Regional Airport (KBVS) recently, but haven't flown into it but a few times... actually I've hardly flown in FSX very much at all. But I have been seeing all of these wonderful posts by my friends of the PNW region, and I decided it was time I flew some. So here is the results of my flight. I have to admit I was quite happy with the results.

BTW, I now have my EVGA graphics card back again from the warranty RMA. So glad it is back and fixed!

It was a very hazy day weather-wise in Washington state on Wednesday afternoon.

I love this picture of the Skylane over the lake area. It shows off the airplane's sexy curves.

This one I had to really lower the "quality" slider to make it fit the pixel limits. I wish you could see the full-size resolution of 1920x1200. It's amazing.

Yes, that little green stripe @ top of screen is the ASE weather software updating the weather stream data. I only fly with "online real-time" weather generation.

This one looks almost real. I was very pleased with it. The GeForce GTX550ti videocard is amazing!

As I got lower, the air cleared up and visibility improved dramatically.

Have you ever tried to get this airplane "down"? It's quite the effort.

Touchdown! notice the beautiful, low clouds in this picture... the sun's rays are peeking thru over the airplane. I just thought this was a really nice, unexpected effect.

WTF??? How on earth did this just happen? One moment I'm roling to a stop, and the next thing I know the nose begins slowing lifting into the air. When the plane shuddered to a gentle stop, I switched to outside view and was surprised to find THIS. I've never had that happen before. Has this happened to anyone else?

Thank you for viewing. I hope you enjoyed the flight.

Am able to see why that 1st shot is a favorite of yours now, wow, what an atmospheric capture! Good ones all, Glenn. You might want to move some cargo towards the front though...

Glenn. If you zoom in on that last shot you can just make out a very angry Gopher holding the tail down.
Can't say I blame him, though. He was there first. — Bob
p.s. Judging by the title, I thought you might be referring to yourself.

@ pchmck: Thanks so much Peter.

@ boxcar: Thanks David! I usually am really careful about things like that, but must admit I forgot this time. I discovered a whole bunch of 1-gallon paint cans full of "Pink" paint, 2 concrete blocks and a large mallet... all crammed into the aft storage section. Hmmmm... Something fishy going on here I think.

@ peer01: Thank you so much Jan. I'm super happy with the first picture! Yeah, I'm trying to like the new format... but it IS different. I did notice I was able to upload more thumbnails though. Hahaha

@ azzaro: BUSTED!!!!!! Yes, I have to admit... in this great bunch of guys, (I) would probably stand out as the so-called strangest one here (in more ways than one) Always been a little "farfromnormal" in a nice way. ROFL
Gopher???? What Gopher?!! Is that the "bump" I felt just before I stopped? Oh goodness gracious, what am I going to do now? Is it illegal to stop a plane on top of a Gopher in Washington state? LOL

Great set! Enjoyed them immesnsely. You know, if you kept less grass stashed in the back, that might not happen. Or smoke more of it before you land.

Super-dooper-Shots, Glenn! I enjoyed them a lot. Bad thing at the last shot. Surely that wasn´t your fault! ( and if you should running out of excusions, ask Jan, he always find any one....hahaha)
When in worked for Lufthansa as Ramp Agent i saw that with a 747-200M (Cargo Main Deck behind PAX Cpt.) after a mistake in loading sequence.

Would take all day to choose a favorite, as they are all superb! As for the landing, meh... blame the weather, complain the runway isn't level, or there's always the government.
