Hi guys!
What is the best freeware aircraft you have seen for FS9?

You are asking a question that is impossible to answer. It's like asking which is better--Ford or Chevy. Or which is best--Boeing or Airbus. There are a multiitude of great freeware aircraft available to choose from. I suggest you try some, and form your opinion based on your preference. One easy way to judge, is to note the number of downloads files have.

There are so many excellent freeware creations available this thread could become lengthy, and it depends on what type of aircraft you prefer.
Anything from Milton Shupe is worth considering, especially the Howard 500, Spartan Executive, or Beech 18. The Twin Otters from Premier Aircraft Design are well done, as is the Daisuke Yamamoto F18e. The Virtavia reissue of the Alphasim B-66 is surprising, I think it could have remained payware. For smaller aircraft, I like the Robin DR-400 from Yannick Levigne, the Cessna 150 from http://www.fs-tutorials.com/en/down_plane_C150_01.php , or J.E. Narcizo's Piper Super Cub. Shigeru Tanaka did an excellent P-51 and a next generation SST. The series of P-38s from David Copley are also commendable. If you like helicopters, try the ICARO EC135 or Hovercontrol 412. Mario Noriega has done an excellent series of Piaggio aircraft, such as the P-180 and PD-808; also the unusual Nardi FN-333 amphibian. The Maule M7 by Mikko Maliniemi, PZL 104 Wilga by Joe Binka and Bruce Thorson, and Lockheed L-10 from Charles Wood are all worth a look, as is anything from Eugene Heyart.
All these aircraft have full systems, functional VCs, and have survived several purges of my aircraft folder.
I leave the heavy iron recommendations to others.
Everything I've ever tried or seen from Project OpenSky (now usually abbreviated to Posky) is brilliant. Their focus is airliners - "heavy iron" as a previous poster put it. Some of their stuff has 2 million+ downloads; hard to argue with that kind of volume. Repaints of their work are available in almost every airline known.

I was only looking for personal opinion, someone can have an aircraft they feel is better than any other they have, that is what I was asking for![]()
Ford trumps Chevy, but Boeing will always be the top don.

Depends how you want to fly.
I like flying in external spot view most of the time, so a good-looking exterior is my top priority and there are plenty of good freeware ones around; some of their cockpits might not be so hot but i don't really mind because i'm rarely in it.
But if people like flying in the cockpit most of the time, their top priority will be a nice-looking cockpit with fully-working dials, avionics and switches etc, i don't know how many freeware ones of those there are around, so you'll probably have to shell out for payware kites to get a top-notch working cockpit.
