Thread: Starting a new VA

  1. Default Starting a new VA

    Hello,

This is my first post and I'm trying to find somebody who's created a VA and I don't know about how to do it. I don't know what VA management system such as VAbase, phpvms, and so forth so any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you

im a COO of a brand new recently started airline called Arizona Regionals, and we use VAFS, which automatically records all neccesary flight information including touchdown vertical speed, touchdown indicated speed, flight time, flight distance, the virtual pay they get for the time flown, its really nice and easy, its only 4 dollars a month (to have a good VA, you're gonna have to spend money on the website and other stuff you will need)

if you use VAFS, its like a real life deal, you have to lease aircraft to get started, then buy them as your VA makes money, if you dont make enough money to cover the costs of your VA, you will go bankrupt

also figure out what A/C you're going to fly, and remember, if you use VAFS, you cant get them all at once, but if you dont use VAFS, you will need to get some sort of software that records flight data

figure out rules and hours your pilots will need to fly in order to rank up, make sure the rules are fair!
my rules for the VA are: you fly 10 hours in the smallest aircraft we own (which is a cessna 206 for us) then 20 hours of flying you move up to a cessna 208, after 25 hours, you get a beechcraft 1900C, then after 30 hours, you get to fly an ATR-72, or a dash 8, then after 35 hours, you get to fly an A318

if you use VAFS, make virtual pay fair! our virtual pay is: 20$ an hour to rank 1, 30$ an hour for rank 2, 40$ an hours for rank 3, 75 dollars an hour for rank 4, and 100$ an hour for rank 5, and after 150 hours of flying in rank 5, the pilot makes 150$ an hour, and after 300 hours of flying rank 5, they get 300$ an hour

the CEO makes 300$ an hour, COO (me) makes 275$ an hour, Hub managers makes 250$ an hour

also if you use VAFS, you should hold events to give your pilots something to look forward to and to change things up, we had an event last week, and the pilot who had the softest landing, got a 10,000 virtual dollar reward (me) and the pilot who finished the event in the closest estimated time got a free payware A318 that me and the CEO paid for

I guess there are a few questions you need to ask yourself before going any further.

    1. Do you have an original idea for a VA? If it has already been done, then your chances for success are somewhat limited.
    2. Are you willing to invest a lot of time? As any VA owners will tell you, there is a very large commitment time-wise when starting a VA.

you can always check out http://www.fsairlines.net/.

If you want to have your own virtual airline you have to pay someting like 10 euro a month and you can start your own airline, choose to buy or lease any aircraft, set up routes, and pilot pay etc. There is a 1 month free trial if you'd like to try it out before parting with money.

Also if you dont want the hassle of setting it up you can join another Virtual Airline and fly for them, Most airlines will let you fly what and where you like just simply got to ask them.

Overall the system is good however there are alot of Virtual Airline which are closed but other than that its fine.
