Generally old foggies hate change but I've been around here a considerable number of years and give you all a Bravo Zulu for a remarkable face lift for Flightsim.com.

Why not indicate PAYWARE DOWNLOADS other than with in the descriptive text?
The CTRL + and - does not affect the filling of the screen...it only makes the entire screen page wider and increases the font size. There is still much wasted space on the right side of the page, regardless of the CTRL +/- adjustment. It is useful to adjust the font size for each individual's vision desires.
A couple of queries/comments - In the review section on the old site you could (if memory serves) select by year, product category and developer - this very useful facility seems to be absent from the new site - have I missed it somewhere? Also miss the old single page main menu linked from the bottom of each page.
Those were static pages that had to be hand created each time a review was added, which does not really fit in with the whole CMS concept of the new site. We really did not think many people used this pages, but if there's demand we should be able to find another way to include them.
Not clear on what you mean here, are you missing something about the home page or only the link back to it?Also miss the old single page main menu linked from the bottom of each page.
Can't find the downloads nor the File Library. I am logged in.
Now I've got it - you have to change the URL (!) to
http://www.flightsim.com/vbfs/content.php

However! There is a very useful search function for articles and site content just
above the navbar. If you take a look at the advanced search feature, you will see
that you can select what types of content you are interested in. As a result of our importing
all of the old content into the new site, all articles are searchable through that mechanism.
A quick development note. Up to this point our concern has been with getting a reasonable
site running, having ALL of our old content and making sure it works under load. This has
just about been completed. We are still doing some tuning. Then we can focus on the
widgets, your requests, new features etc. We would not have been able to do that with
our old system. You have already gone thru the hardest parts which were things like
unifying passwords and accounts, importing the Wiki, getting to a single login system and
a few other things. We started with old C code, rewrote the whole thing in PHP/MySQL,
and then integrated it into the vBulletin CMS framework. And here we are! 8-)
Thank you for your patience as we made these changes. I regret the temporary
interruptions in service. I thought that we had done enough planning that that
wouldn't happen. 8-(
Welcome to FlightSim.Com 2012! We hope you like it. 8-)
Best regards,
Rick
Hmm, what URL were you using? We should have had them all fixed by now.
If you are not seeing "File Library" as the third item from the left in the blue menu bar at the top of the page you have your style set wrong. Go to the bottom left of the page, look for the white dropdown box where styles are selected and select "--FlightSim" from the standard styles.
