Question about installing Repaints

I am new to downloading and installing repaints.
I think I know the answer to this, but will ask.
When you copy all the lines of the new planes into the configuration files, one of the lines is "Description". Some of the descriptions are quite long, is it really nessesary to copy all of it word for word
or can you put a shorter version or even leave it blank?

I will typically replace everything in the "Description" with the painters name, filename and download location.

If it's an AI plane I will remove the line completely.

It serves no purpose other than to provide the info on the airplane selection screen.

You could put an apple pie recipe there and do no harm to the sim.

some .air files include the description too, so don't be surprised if the description magically re-appears if you delete it completely. You can remove the description from the .air file with AirEd if you wish.

Thanks StringBean, That is the answer I thought I would get, but it never hurts to be sure.
I have been on Microsoft's F.S. for over 10 years now and I just now tried installing a repaint.
It wasn't as hard as I thought it would be, but making sure every line is copied just right took longer than I thought.
The repaint I am going to do next has 48 words in the description, that is why I thought I would ask if it really all had to be put in for the file to work properly.
