Well, as far as I'm concerned, the size/power/thrust rating on the engines has NOTHING to do with it. I simply wanted FOUR engines going over water. My longest flights over water, however, were only 4 to 5 hours. I STILL was glad I had FOUR engines. Guess I'm just an old fuddy-duddy. But.....I'm here to tell about it after many, many flights !What is your opinion on the 777 and ETOPS though? Gigantic powerful engines.
