    Default dauphin.cfg ... looking for a little help?!

    Alrighty... I can fly this beast without a hitch now! By far definitely one of my favorites.

    I do have some configuration questions for the dauphin.cfg file. I have the Saitek X36USB sticks and the POV works as buttons. Which means I need to assign the POV0 and POV1 as individual buttons.

    I am not getting any panning movements in the VC. What would the commands be in that configuration file to make this happen?

    For instance I would need a separate pan command for down, up, left, and right. However the dauphin.cfg file only shows the command for POV0 as a single line command.

    Hope I am making sense here. Any one have any ideas?

    Thanks,

    Johnny

    Default I think it's one or the other......

    Either use the POV for heading, altitude, or speed control OR panning...
    With Antii's gizmo though I do reserve the right to be completely
    WRONG...:-lol:-lol:-lol

    View panning cannot be assigned to buttons. And I'm not sure if the POV-buttons can be recognized at all because the configuration deals only with buttons 1-8.

    Default That becomes the issue!

    The saitek recognizes the POV's as ActiveX button commands. This is how I have it set up in FS. I guess I could go in and assign keyboard commands to these movements and just do it that way. I don't have a problem with that. I wanted to just make sure I wasn't missing some commands in the *.cfg file.

    Thank you for the really great addon! If you ever develope this further, maybe (just a suggestion) you could find someone who could write a configuration builder. Like a little program that pops up and you select the function you want to do, then move your stick, or click on the button and it writes the config file for you! This way we could get full programability out of our sticks!

    Thanks,

    Default Wait a minute....

    are we mixing terms? POV=Top Hat Yes? If so, beg pardon but I did assign panning to the Top Hat, but I went back to using the Top Hat to adjust heading bug, etc...

    Perplexed...?!?!?

    Hey Tailboom!

    Just a quick one, what are you typing to assign events such as heading bug, and speed increase/decrease? I take it these are to go in the Dauphin.cfg?

    Default Hi Alun......

    Here is what's in my Dauphin.cfg...
    number_of_devices=1;
    cyclic_pitch=1,Y;
    cyclic_roll=1,X;
    yaw=1,rZ;
    collective=1,SLIDER0;
    force_trim_release=1,BUT1;
    beep_trim=1,POV0;
    snap_view=2,POV0;
    toggle_landing_gear=1,BUT7;
    toggle_cycl_fd=1,BUT5;
    toggle_coll_fd=1,BUT3;
    toggle_coupler=1,BUT4;
    go_around=1,BUT2;
    brakes=1,BUT6;
    low_realism_setting;

    To make everything work I replaced 1,Z; with "SLIDER0;" On the 'collective' line. I noticed that the top Hat would control Airspeed Bug when airspeed hold is on. And control VSI 'bug' when VSpeed is on. Both of those with forward and backward movement. Also heading bug is moved with left right movement.

    Adding this line, "pan_view=1,POV0;" allowed panning, but the previous functions didn't work...

    Don't things work this way for you??

    Default Mine is setup close to that....

    However My POV does not move when the POV "top hat" is moved. I will continue to work with the *.cfg file until I find what works. My setup is a little different. I use all USB joysticks, one CH Pro Pedals, and the Saitek X36USB sticks. I don't use the yoke for my helos. The POV's just don't work. I will try different commands for them and see what happens.

    Thanks!

    Default RE: Hi Alun......

    Unfortunately I don't have a POV switch, I thought maybe you had found some Button Event commands that would control those functions. Not to worry, It's not like my hands are full anymore! :-lol

    Happy Hovering
