    Default Computer crash

I have attempted several times to download and run Microsoft Flight. However, I don't simply get an error code, my computer total crashes every time. The computer shuts down to avoid damage. As suggested in the trouble shooting section, I have ran windows update and disabled my antivirus software during the download and install process. The troubleshooting section refers to various error messages, but doesn't provide an answer to a computer crash issue. Any suggestions?

Shutting down to avoid damage could be due to an overheating issue. Make sure all your fans are working!

Is this happening when you launch Flight?
Or after you fly a while?
If you have Win Vista/7 does it generate an event when it crashes?
Is it a hard crash requiring full power down to recover?
Or a Crash to desktop, where Windows still functions?

Just like FSX, Basic system specs would help diagnose the problem: Operating System, CPU Model# and it's speed(OC), Video Card Model# and VRAM, System RAM.

I found the cure to my hangs was run it windowed rather than full screen, but, that's grabbing straws without having more input...Don

I have the problem of overheating. I use a large and powerful laptop - works great but the manufacturer did not provide enough cooling. I use a chill pad under it and that stops the problem. Flight does cause an overheat when running with the chill mat turned off. I think this is to do with the GPU rather than the CPU. There is a simple free tool that can monitor your computer temperature and even sleep it rather than let if CTD if it overheats: http://www.alcpu.com/CoreTemp/

It might be helpful if you post the error messages...

    Bonjour,

    Hello,

I solved the crashes on my PC by using my graphics card tool(ATI) to allow the application (Microsoft Flight) manage the Anti Aliasing. Since then everything is OK, otherwise the screen goes black and the pc turns off by itself.

    Sorry for the French!
Thanks for the information. I'm sure someone else will benefit from it.(Merci pour l'information. Je suis sûr que quelqu'un d'autre va en tirer profit)...Don
