It isn't just flight sims that are affected, but all software in general. More and more companies are moving towards digital distribution for a software products.

Generally I do not get stuff that cannot be downloaded. I suppose I might change my mind if I lost my decent broadband connection but other than that DVDs end up in the Chicken house so that the ladies can preen while laying eggs![]()

I've been using Steam for ages now, and haven't had a problem.
However, as posted in another thread, I got randomly "blocked" out of my Microsoft Live account, and am unable to access Flight.
This would appear to be a problem with a system that isn't purely focused on providing downloadable games, but also provides messaging and other services.

I agree , i will probably not have to worry , but today`s youth may have to battle for food/oil in the future. But, as far as DVD`s and Flight are concerned , me being an avid flightsimmer{and i also have a private pilot license , not current , from the 80`s, } will buy Flight if they decide to bend a tad for customers who want DVD`s , if there`s ongoing small updates , i can download those OK.

1. You don't buy Flight because it is free. It will not be put on a DVD.
2. None of the DLC will be offered on DVD.
It isn't a Flight Sim. It's a game that lets you collect rings, fly backwards, and rise through the game-style levels.
