Default Flight causes system to reboot

Annoyingly I am having the same problem with MS Flight that I have with FSX in that the computer reboots at seemingly random times.
Intiially I thought it was the use of the CH Yoke, but I have just flown the first mission with the mouse OK but on the second the dreaded reboot happened just after takeoff.

My computer man was pretty definite that the problem in FSX was a software issue, and it has only occurred in one other instance running the Mass Effect 3 Demo, otherwise everyhing elso on the computer runs well, including some 50 Hidden Object games.

Any one else had the same problem, and know of any workarounds?

Happened to me too last night on approach to an airstrip. No discernible reason, and this is the first time after maybe 6-8 flights since installation. Will keep an eye open.

I get the same problem with Train Simulator 2012. The support people tried valiantly but could not fix the problem for me.
The complexity of modern games and platforms has gotten to the point where even the programmers can't always tell what is happening. Debugging each individual installation is like a forensic air crash investigation. I'm getting beyond my initial disappointment, and trying very hard to get it to run without issues.
Even with settings all on Low, the best I have been able to do, is get occasional 5-15 second hangs.
I'm on my 9th installation, which is worse than the previous two. Now I'm getting BSODs, so, there is something evolving in Flight at MS end, or, simply, that large of a download is just not reliable.

In my case it could also be related to a lack of RAM. My mobo only supports 2GB. If I find a workaround I'll post it.
What strikes me as odd though, my FS9/FSX installs work great on this same hardware. I was thinking Flight would be much better with it's lesser requirements...Don

Kind of makes one wish all hardware developers were on the same page. There's no reason a game should work for one person and not the nest. Update your drivers.... once that's done... what else can one do (other than upgrade their system).

Turn down Flight graphical features (eye candy).
Update Windows. (Check Optional List also)
    Update DirectX.
Update .Net Framework 4 Client profile.
    Clean Windows registry.

Hi Paxx.... You mention cleaning the registries. Man, that's a HUGE thing for me as you can really mess up your system if not done right. Can you recommend a program for this that's reliable (proven) and will NOT end up in a re install of the OS?

I'll vouch for ccleaner. I've been using it daily for years with no problems. Excellent piece of freeware! — Bob
