After watching the aviatior movie, I have come to dislike refering to Mr Hughes' C-4 Hercules as "Spruce Goose" out of respect for the man. It seemed that name was given to it as an insult.

    I flew in a DC-8 back in 2001.

I saw the Northrop Grumman B-2 Spirit Stealth bomber at the Fairford international air tattoo (UK) a few years ago, it flew in from the States during the airshow & taxied & parked in a far corner of the airfield, it was very heavily guarded, with men in dark suits & sunglasses!

    I've seen an EAA Biplane.

I think the Bristol Superfreighter is the only aeroplane I've seen that is extinct

The question that shoul have been asked is: what do you mean by saying "rare"?

US Navy XFY-1 Convair "Pogo" outside the gate of NAS Norfolk many years ago. A static display -I do not believe it is there anymore.

Also a few Navy blimps along the Maine coast, from the old NAS South Weymouth, Mass. on ASW training flights. That was circa 1948.
