Thread: OOM Error Windows 7

  1. Exclamation OOM Error Windows 7

Hi I have fsx acceleration installed and I always get oom errors. I have tried to lower setting, change virtual address space, and add [BUFFERPOOLS] UsePools=0. Nothing has worked. My system specs are Windows 7 home premium. x64bit, 8GB of RAM. Please help.

I have encountered the same issue, and my computer specs match yours except I only have 4 gig of RAM. I too am using Usepoos=0. I also added TEXTURE_BANDWIDTH_MULT=40, and with this setting I kept getting OOM errors. I incresed it to 200 and my OOM went away. You might want to give it a try. It goes under [Display]. Hope this helps.

Do you have any add-ons installed?

I will try putting my texture bandwidth to 200. What does this do? I don't have any addons installed anymore.

Turns out that setting it to 200 does not work. Please help me more.

The TEXTURE_BANDWIDTH_MULT=XX setting has to do with video RAM utilization not system RAM.
A value of 70 to 90 is typical for most systems but larger values may work better if using photo-real scenery (see the applicable section in this guide).

Have you applied the HIGHMEMFIX to your fsx.cfg file? Doing so may help with your OOM problem.
If you haven't applied the tweak, I suggest you run this automated fsx.cfg tuner which will apply it along with some additional tweaks as may be required.

I had OOM errors when I first installed FS.X

One of the FSX SP's apparently addressed a memory leak

Anyhow, after installing SP1 and SP2 I had no more OOM

I tried the automated fsx.cfg tuner and it added the highmemfix=1 to my fsx.cfg, but i'm still getting OOM errors and now they even come faster than usual. Since I have acceleration installed, SP2 comes with it so the memory leak issue is no problem (I think). Please help more. But thank you for all the replies!
