Is there supposed to be? Is it just me? Seems odd. — Bob
"Remember, gravity is not just a good idea... It's the law!"
Let me just qualify the above a little; I do hear sounds in external views: other players' planes, and my own plane when walking near it.
The rest of the time it's total silence. Is this how it is for everyone, or do I personally have a problem? — Bob
You should hear environmental sound effects such as wind, storms, rain, waves if near anything that would emit these sounds. If you are inland under clear skies with no wind you probably won't hear much if anything. If however a 19kt wind is blowing and you get out near say a shore line you should hear stuff.
I'll investigate the issue some more. I certainly hear the wind. Opening the canopy on the Vans at 150kts is like stepping into a tornado.
The extra drag and its effects are obvious too. Very immersive! — Bob
Bob,do you mean that when you are in "spot view" you can't hear anything? I have all the normal sounds happening in spot with mine, the engine, wind etc. so if your's is silent there is a glitch happening and I don't know enough about the game or your system to suggest a fix. Possible soundcard driver update? I just don't know, check out the game options>sound window?![]()
Problem solved. I was indeed the sound card drivers.
I had external sound, but it was really quiet and only stereo instead of 5.1.
The latest drivers did the trick. Thanks all. Happy flying.— Bob
