I read some past forums telling us to wait for fs2004 for helicopter ai... but there is none, I know to create my own, but they take off and land like regular airplanes.. is there any way I can change that

Military AI Works have some packages with AI Helicopters

Any freeware package is going to have choppers that take off as planes do.

Have you tried Hana Heli-Obstacle Course v3.0? You can get it at Avsim.net (FileName: hana_heli-obstacle_course_v3.0.zip).

MAIW has plenty of helicopter AI traffic.

And you can also look at Hovercontrol.com for everything related to helicopters. Most likely they'll also have a lot of AI scenery for helicopters.
