Thread: Flight Director offsets for home cockpit

  1. Question Flight Director offsets for home cockpit

    Hello

    I'm building a 727 home simulator, and have so far been able to recognize most of the offsets for switches & buttons via the FSUIPC Mouse Macro function as well as the FS Interrogate software.

    However I'm experiencing a lot of trouble trying to find the offsets for the flight director. As we all know, the 727's flight director works individual and seperate from the autopilot. I've therefore not been able to find any preset offsets for the FD. But what really troubles me is that the FD does not seems to send out ANY commands when I'm using the FSUIPC logging function.

    Is there any chance some of you out there might be able to help me?

    Thanks;
    Lasse

    Im working on a 737-200 cockpit and have the same problem. Apparently there is no built in support in FSX to allow FSUIPC to have seperate FD offsets from the Autopilot, and software such as PM are designed for Glass cockpits so there is not sperate FD support there either. Im slaving my FD mode lights to the AP mode lights until a solution can be found. The only FD offset that I am aware of is the ON/OFF function.

    Well, compromises has to be made every once in a while. I'm using an OK solution untill - if ever - something better will come up.
    When i turn the selector on the fd from off to hdg, fsuipc recognise it as one right mouseclick on the df727 fd. Turning further right to vor/loc - once again a right mouseclick, and again turning the selector to app.
    The off function is not connected to any buttons, but turning the selector all the way to the left to hit ga, will press and hold a left mouseclick on the fd.

    This works just fine for me.

    I'm not personally familiar with this the aircraft you are using, but have several aircraft in my hangar that use custom XML gauges that do not have any native functionality in FSX/FSUIPC offsets.

    LINDA http://fs-linda.com allows you to monitor the button presses in the VC, decodes the XML LVars that the custom gauges are using, and finally to create LUA code that emulates the button presses.

    A very good software solution for just this kind of situation.
