Place it into the folder called aircraft in FS98.

In all aircraft for FS98 you are going to need at least 4 folders, and two files. The two files are the Aircraft.cfg and the Aircraft.Air
file. The Folders will be Model, Panel, Sound, and Texture. Inside the Panel or Sound folders you are going to find one of two things. You are either going to find images and a Panel.cfg or just a panel.cfg. If there is just a panel.cfg then open that up and you will see the following line: alias=BK117 Helicopter\panel That means that FS98 is going to look in the FS98/Aircraft/BK117 Helicopter/Panel Folder for the files it needs to show the panel. If there is no FS98/Aircraft/BK117 Helicopter/Panel Folder then the
aircraft won't show up in FS98. Sound files too, In the Sound Folder you are either going to find either .Wav files and a Sound.cfg or just a Sound.cfg. If it's only the Sound.cfg then open that up and you'll see the following line: alias=Bk117 Helicopter\sound that means that FS98 is looking again in the FS98/Aircraft/BK117 Helicopter/Sound Folder for the sounds it needs. Like the panel, if these folders are missing the Aircraft wont show up in FS98. When downloading 3rd party aircraft for FS98, for Propeller aircraft you will generally see the panel.cfg say alias=C182\panel and the sounds say alias=C182\panel. For jets they usually either point to the default Lear45 or B737-400.

The Proceedure for installing aircraft is like this......
    c:// program files/microsoft games/FS98/Aircraft

Also look to see if you have program files(x86)........ If you do you may need to add them their.....
    That location is like this.....
    c:// program files(x86)/ microsoft games/FS98/Aircraft

Sounds like you may not be adding the entry for you new 'plane into the CFG. There should be a text file supplied to add to it with instructions.

If you don't the the new add on will not show simply because there is nothing in the CFG to call it into the sim.

    Have you done that?

If the panels include HBHB files and you're running Xp or later you'll definitely have troubles.

Actually FS98 senses new aircraft through the aircraft.cfg file! You can add and delete aircraft all day long and FS98 will see all of them. Having a proper Aircraft.cfg entry is needed though! When I need to delete an aircraft from FS98, I just delete the folder it's
in and leave the gauges behind!

What folder on your computer did you install FS98 to? Mine is in C:\Fltsim98, the default is C:/program files/microsoft games/FS98, and my old computer was C:\FS98! So knowing where it went is one key to fixing it!

    Thanks, nielsdevries!

Yes!! Those gauges like to write to the registery Win98 style. WinXP blocks those punts and you get errors when the gauges
try to write their data! Same issue with FS2000 and FS2002! Got them also! Nice panels but do end up deleting those!

    Thanks, profirio22!
