I think the performance of your Intel graphic chip is too low. X-Plane needs a GPU with a very good OpenGL support. I'm using the Nvidia GeForce 8800GT. But you can test the free demos before you buy the product. If you don't care about eye candy, you can set minimal graphic details.

Here you can find a X-Plane test with a laptop (no dedicated GPU):

Running I7 processor asus rampageIV extreme MOBO asus gtx 680 card sound blaster recon sound card 16 Gig of mem X-plane far exceeds Flight simx by microsoft. Getting anywhere from 25 to 70 FPS depending on how many objects and features I have in the settings. I can even see the fires burning in Utah and Colorado.

You know the fires are random and not based on any real data, right?
    Thanks,

If that's the case, I'm totally dropping X Plane and switching back to FSX! I mean, real bushfires burning in real time made by a 3PD is just the pinnacle of realism for ANY platform!
I wish I found this out a lot sooner!

At least my default sims know there are 4 seasons and not just one.

Yep, to stay with what I have because it is much more realistic.
    Thanks,

    Jim
