    Default An alternative?

    http://www.aeroflyfs.com/index.php/e.../overview.html
A flight sim a bit similar to FLIGHT with no 3rd party, only one area etc. but a waaaaaaay better graphics model, hyper-ultra-super sharp scenery and huge variety of planes.
Watch these videos and make your own mind: they impressed me enough.

For the last video, you might see it as a macabre topic but it show the planes availible and if you like what you see, that guy's channel has loads more like it.

Thanks for this info. This is about the most visually impressive PC flight sim I've seen. Naturally, I'd like to find out how much area this covers and it's ATC and wx capabilites. I'll visit their home page to find out.

It only covers Switzerland but you're right about the visuals: it's all photo scenery except where 3D buildings and trees are overlaid REALISTICALY. It reminds my of ORBX x2. The weather is something they say is impressive, due to its impact on gliding which is something they've taken to heart: I don't know about ATC but I imagine it's good if they have as advanced aircraft systems as they claim.

    Super expensive??

I am not sure you are looking at the right software. I see it advertised as 39.99 Euros.

It is their RC Simulators that cost a couple of hundered Euros, and that is because it also comes with a USB RC radio.

Personally, I'd be willing to pay two, three, even four hundred for a simulator if it is good. We spend that type of money on hardware, and if we're going to be using it for years, I honestly think it's worth it. There are way more expensive hobbies out there. And I'm not a person with money laying around. I don't know much about this simulator, but the visuals are beyond impressive. There are lots of factors at play in regards to how and who will be able to bring out a new platform. It's my opinion that the only successful one is the one that developers and the community will embrace. If you notice, that has not exactly been the case with X-Plane to the degree it has been with MSFS up until this point. Everyone needs to feel secure in investing and shifting their time and money onto a platform. I've seen really nice simulators with very good visuals, and the one that first comes to mind is the World of Subway series. Problem is, there is no known add-on development for them. Even worse, the developer pretty much blatantly turned their back on minor issues that if corrected, would've at least gave the market some confidence......most notably the physics problem where a standing train on an incline would not roll forward or back with brakes released. They acknowledged it but never fixed it in any of their newer releases that I am aware of, London Underground, etc. Simulators are best playable when the community can expand on them, period.

Anyway, thanx for this info for this sim, I have just ordered it with a grand total of 53.79 euros, which is due to the shipping costs.

To find the sim on the website you must go to "Shop International" For some reason AeroflyFS is not listed in the other shopping areas.

Is it only availible in their German (Deutsch) shop? On their homepage they advertise the price in dollars (49.99).

The only place I found it listed was either in the German section or the International section, its not listed in the US nor UK secion. And seeing that I am from the UK also you know how much it will cost you.

BTW, in the International shop section you can select between German or English manual.
