Wings of Prey

I am very interested in this Wings of Prey sim so I downloaded the demo and installed it. For some reason, after about two or three minutes, it shuts my machine down. It doesn't crash, it actualy shuts the thing down. I don't even get any errors when I start it back up. I have tried it with my G940 and Trackir 5 disconnected and it still does it. Even if I just start the game and do mothing else, just let the movies play, after a couple minutes, shut down. I have no problem at all running any other sim or game on my laptop. Only with this demo. I want to get the full game but I want to make sure it's gonna work before I spend the $$$. Could this be a Windows 7 issue? Does anyone else run this game in Win 7? I would have tried it on my XP desktop machine but it need a video card.

You may have a heat issue and this could be why your system is shutting down after a period of time. This utility will help you confirm or eliminate heat as an issue.

When you said laptop, I figured it was a heat issue. I hope that it's something simpler to fix then that though, as you may have to re paste your heatsinks. There are several temp logging programs out there that will save the temps to a document, so you can see what it is when it shuts down.
