Thread: Not Acceptable?

    Default Not Acceptable?

I tried to click the second page of the "Just For Fun" thread, and got the following message.

    Not Acceptable
An appropriate representation of the requested resource /vbfs/showthread.php could not be found on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

    Anyone else see that?

I think we determined that there really isn't a second page to that thread.
    Thanks,

    Jim

That depends on your individual forum settings.

If you have your settings for "Number of Posts to Show Per Page:" set to either the forum default, or 10, then that topic has 2 pages and the second one is unavailable.

If you change your settings to 20 or more then you can see all posts on that topic, 16 at the time I write this.

There is something wrong with the forum software.

Jim, I think I have to take issue with that. I say "I think" because im so often wrong, but on that page, I said something about a Sky Crane helicopter and Don said something immediately in response.

If my thinking isn't completely confused (and we all know that that is always possible) there should be a age two and something has gotten screwed up. It's not a big deal as far as I'm concerned.

Well, there are 15 replies as of now.
If you set your preferences so that they all fit on one page then you can view the whole thread.
But if the settings require the thread to be displayed on two pages it gives the error.
So something is screwed up and there is no page two.

I have seen on other boards where there are enough posts to cause a new page, but then a mod deletes a post and then that last page gets left kind of in in-determinate status.

I'd like to know how people continue to post to that thread but you can't see their posts.

As StringBean noted above, the problem seems to depend on your thread display settings.

If you have your settings for "Number of Posts to Show Per Page:" set to either the forum default, or 10, then that topic has 2 pages and the second one is unavailable.

If you change your settings to 20 or more then you can see all posts on that topic, 16 at the time I write this.
