I'm finding this hard to believe. Please tell me all that scenery is not stock/built-in/default/out-of-the-box.
Looks pretty good...

Yes thats stock. but its the xplane demo. if you want to try it go to xplane. com and down load it.....
I had a go myself, although it looks very nice I was far too impatient to actually work out how to use it properly. If only they had more intuitive menus and controls.

Problem is, there is no attempt to do any city specific scenery, at least from what I have seen and heard. So, Las Vegas wont look like the Las Vegas you see in either FS9 or FSX. It will be generic buildings. The load times on my older dual core are slow, 3+ minutes from clicking the icon to sitting on the runway. Maybe a bit more.
And theres the stuttering/pausing. I've seen reports of it from other users. Wasn't fixed in the most recent update either.
I would consider it if they can solve the stuttering issue. It will still be a fun sim to fly around in, but im not paying $80(US). I imagine Flight will be cheaper, and I still have FSX, which will be like a new sim for me when I eventually get an up to date PC.
Looks very x-plane-ish!
What I really like about x-plane is that there is no speed limit like in FSX (Mach 4.6). You can fly Mach 15 from Sydney to London and it will take less than 90 minutes.
And the default mesh, of course! Can't get such a good mesh in FSX.
But those clouds still look ugly and the water, I don't know if they finally fixed that, in x-plane 9 it always looked like sewer water. Objects look more detailed now, but the MSFlight screen shots I saw are very stunning as well.![]()
