FS2004 ATC speak stutter

Hi!

Out of nowhere I get annoying sound stutters from the FS9 ATC talk.

I can't figure out what the problem could be, I haven't changed anything in my sim.

Hi Hans,

If I recall, ATC stuttering is usually caused by your hard disk having trouble keeping up with the audio. It could be that an application (not FS9) is using the hard disk at the same time that FS9 is trying to load the sound files. I've had this in the past when my antivirus kicked in during a flight.

First off, I'd check whether your AV is trying to do a scan.

Also, if you're not already doing so, I'd recommend running GameBooster just before loading FS9. Gamebooster unloads all unnessesary applications and processes so they don't unexpectedly kick in during a flight. Saves a few meg of RAM in the process, which helps quite a bit too.
