    Default deployable dragchute

how does one install a deployable dragchute in an a/c without one?

Basically you can't. Something like that would have to be a modeled bit, which would mean that in order to add it you would need to have the original model files (not the .mdl one).

The model files are the property of the original developer and rarely released to the public for obvious reasons.

Like others have said, this needs to be done by the developer and the deployable drag chute needs to be tied to a parameter setting to make it visible...maybe when you press F2 the chute deploys by way of XML code. I actually just got done a few hours ago implementing some code that does this on the new HJG DC8. Except, I'm not deploying a chute, I just needed to hide the thrust reverse engine wells, the part that gets covered up when the cowling slides back in.
