Hello all, Im finally in a place where I can explore fs. I currently have FSX, with a new gaming pc and saitek controller.
Im by no means new to fs, I had fs in 1980's on the Atari, fs98? 2000, 2004 and now FSX and a decent sim pilot.

Im looking for an basic outline of what I should do to enhance my siming?

Read the forum and use the search function? FSX was released in 2006. That's FIVE YEARS of knowledge you need to catch up on! It would take us years to cover it all.

It depends on what interests you. But I'd say some common things that all types of pilots would benefit from are:

* payware scenery for your favorite airports
* better ground textures (e.g., Ground Environment X Europe/North America)
* better weather engine and environmental textures (Active Sky Evolution and Real Environment X)

Finally, if you haven't yet flown online, this adds a whole new level of realism, especially flying in areas where Air Traffic Control is active. So check out and join AVSIM and IVAO.
