Dash 8 VC installing help

Hey, could I have some help with how to install the default CRJ 700 Virtual Cockpit into the default Dash 8. Ive read some other forums and they say its possible. Ive followed what they say but it doesnt quite work.

I won't give comments on the realism and the need for such a merge, but technically speaking it works for me.
Didn't read anything on the other forums, just did what had to be done.

Note: I have tried to make my reply as vague and meaningless as the OP.

Did you change the two model entries along with adding the CRJ vc textures and adding the crj panel. While flying it would be forward a good bit , so try looking around for it.

I thought that the VC was part of the actual model and it was impossible to transfer it to another plane. 2D panels can be used/transfered to any aircraft though.

In FSX, they made the VC a separate model from the overall aircraft model, so it is possible to merge VCs in some cases. Although why you would merge a 2 engine jet cockpit into a turboprop is a bit confusing to me...

I took Bombardier_CRJ_700_Interior.mdl from the CRJ Model Folder, and pasted it into the dash 8 model folder. I added interior= Bombardier_CRJ_700_Interior in the model CFG Flie in the model folder of the dash 8. I then copied everything from the texture folder in the CRJ that ended in C (like CRJ_700_5_C, CRJ_700_3_night_C), along with the CRJ_700_Reflection file, into the dash 8 texture folder (all of the texture folders in the dash 8). I then copied the panel folder in the CRJ to the Dash 8.

Why doesnt it work then? Thats what I need help for.

I thought the CRJ VC was a good choice because both aircraft are bombardier. Should I try to merge a different VC then?

The problem is that you are trying to merge a turboprop and a jet aircraft. Those are very different kind of aircrafts and their panels reflect that. You will be missing some information in flight. I suggest you try a turboprop VC, maybe an ATR or another Dash 8?

That's basically what I did as well, works for me. Maybe it's just a typo ?
What do you mean by "doesn't work" ? Can mean a lot of things... doesn't show for selection, doesn't show the VC, gauges don't show, etc etc ...

Please be more specific, and I won't post annoying replies like my initial one.

Btw. remember to change the eyepoint to something close to this:[Views]
eyepoint= 7.25, -1.35, 4.3

the plane textures dont show up. Its like the plane Isnt there. The VC texture dont show too, same as the rest of the plane. Its like the plane disappears. :S

There's a typo your model.cfg, or the Bombardier_CRJ_700_interior.mdl was copied to a wrong folder.
