Default Is this a good book?

I was just wondering if the text "From the Ground Up", Millennium Edition is a good groundschool text? Reason is, I just had my first groundschool class tonight:-)yay!:-)and haven't really started to wade through all 300+ pages.

While it isn't designed for the Canadian system, "Rod Machado's Private Pilot Handbook" is an excellent source of private pilot info. I guess you could skip the section on FARs, but the rest of the book is exceptional. He explains things (everything) extremely well. That book helped me more than any other training aid I used during my PPL training.

Good luck with the training. It'll be a blast. I'm starting Instrument ground classes in a couple weeks. I've already started reading everything I can find to help and have been doing the air work. There is so much to learn in aviation. It's sometimes hard to separate the wheat from the chaff when looking at all those books, CDs, and videos.

The jeppeson Private pilot and Instrument/commercial books are what I use. They are really excellent textbooks. I highly recomend them.
