Avcad is messed up.

Hi guys, Im sorry i have to ask this, Ive been making my own flight plans for years now but i have switched computers this one has windows 7 in it and im still getting used to it, anyway i have some of the MAIW packages set up in my comp but the Avcads are only letting me go into and ONLY SHOWING the airports that i have downloaded into the game from MAIW, no other airports are showing up in avcad like DFW and so on but they do have the default planes flying there cause my aircraft setting is set to 100% so if i wanted to go into NAS Ft Worth to make some parking spaces for the base its not in the Avcad list of airports, Ive run collect airports several times but avcad is still only showing the airports in the MAIW packages, and I have all the airports in the airports080582 or whatever the number is, also when i look at avcad it shows the bases lets say Nellis AFB, its showing the base with full parking spaces in Avcad but when i go there there are NO PLANES. I installed these packages the right way in the other comp and the planes and everything showed up perfectly the only thing i had to change was the flightplans cause whoever made them thinks the planes at Nellis only go out on a jaunt once a week, anyway sorry for blabbing too much if anyone has had this same problem please let me know how you fixed it , thanks for you help.

AFCAD is a very old program. You won't get much support for that old program.

Delete it and download - Airport Design Editor 9x

It is basded on AFCAD, butis much better, and up to date. And Windows Se7en likes it, and it likes Windows Se7en.

Google - Airport Design Editor 9x, and yer on yer way

Be sure you are using AFCAD221, the last version available in the must have files section here. If you are using AFCAD in Win 7 or VISTA be sure you create a shortcut to it and set the shortcut property to run as admin.

When you do an open airport in afcad it searches for airports based on the scenery.cfg as set up in your FS scenery library. Search by ICAO code. Remember that to be effective after making scenery library changes close and then restart FS so that the scenery.cfg file is updated and reindexed. If you are going to use AFCAD again you might want to close FS before saving the afcad bgl file.

Remember in searching for an airport use the full ICAO four letter code such as KDFW for Dallas\Fort Worth. In AFCAD jusrt enter that code in the right hand side and click search.

ADE9 is a safer but a bit more complex editor to user. See this thread:

Hi guys ok ive never even heard of ADE until now got it downloaded now ill just have to take a couple of weeks off of flying to learn how to use tis thing, i figured out afcad pretty well been designing my own flightplans and avcads for about 6 yrs now boy i sure love MAIW it took me about four days to get all the parking spots at Nellis AFB done and that was just on the main base side.thanks again guys for all your help.
