Thread: I have a problem

  1. Exclamation I have a problem

    Hi Everybody.

    This is my situation:
•I Have FSX WITHOUT SP1 or SP2, and I am unable to get them
•I have admin rights to the FSX folder
•I recently tried to install another program in that folder for reasons too long to be explained here
•Installation of that program was NOT sucessfull
•Now FSX refuses to start up, providing an error message of "Couldn't Load language DLL Error Code:0x7E (126) Program is aborting!"
    •I have windows XP
    •This is a registry issue, I believe

First of all, I would like to know if it is even possible to fix this problem without re-install. If it is possible, then would you kindly inform me of how to fix it.

    Thank you.

    Why can't you get SP1 and SP2?
They're free to download, and obviously you have an internet connection?

Where did you buy your copy of FSX?

I do not have the admin rights needed to install them. I just want to know if there is a way to fix it without a re-install

Pleas show FULL error message. Language .dll is probably corrupt, reinstall of FSX may cure this. We have detailed how to do this without losing addons on numerous occasions. Use search function.

So, you have SP1 and SP2 but can't install them due to admin rights limitation?....if that is the case then try disabling the User Access Control (UAC) and installing the Service Packs or still better you can install FSX in the separate folder outside the Program Files folder or in a separate partition itself. This way you wont have to deal with admin rights problems.

[EDIT] Didn't notice that you have Windows XP..............my mistake........

I thought Andim rights was not an issue in XP

I've never experience any such problems

Sounds like he is on a locked down corporate or government computer of some sort. So....

It is doubtful you will be making changes to the registry. Probably not possible to correct your error without a new install of FSX.

Are you in a non-english computer?
I say this because I had a similar issue.
Some installation packages are not multilanguage and they look for "Administrator"
But in other language XP the system only understands "Administrador" for spanish, and so forth with other langages, and halts installation.
