Default Dual monitors with 9800 gtx - need some help setting up

Hey guys. Just for the heck of it i setup FSX on an older gaming PC. It is not ideal but the location is good and i want to make sure i am going to really get into FSX before i get a new gaming PC. So i hooked up my two 19" 1280x1024 displays to my 9800 gtx in vista and it works fine. Then i load FSX. My problem is i cannot span the cockpit over both monitors like i can with Eyefinity on the 5850. I am really hoping there is a simple fix because i really dont want to hsve to buy anything for this older PC.

Anyone have any idea how i get FSX to span two monitors?

    Thanks guys.

    Rob

    Hello

    There's no solution
If yoo want to span you need xp+nvidia card or w7 with ati card
w7 and nvidia doesn't let this configuration

Try running in windowed mode, in other words not full screen, and then expanding the window.

Yes they do, if you have the correct hardware. Spanning games across screens has always been something done through the video driver, not Windows itself.

It isn't Microsoft's problem and has always been up to the video card manufacturers, or third parties like Matrox.

I have a similar issue that I posted in the newcomer forum. I'll post it here as well.

So I have two monitors hooked up to an EVGA Nvidia 560Ti. In Win7 I have my desktop extended but when I launch FSX the right screen (screen2) is blank. I can drag the GPS over to it but I would like to view the cockpit in that view. Basically I would like the cockpit view to be stretched across both screens. How can I accomplish this? I've been googling and seen things about Nvidia Dual View but my card doesn't seem to have that. Right now I"m at 1600x900 but I've seen on youtube people with a wider screen resolution and having it stretched where they can look around the cockpit on both monitors. I figured I"d ask here as you guys would be the best to ask. Thanks in advance!

Please don't tell me this can't be done. There has to be a way....

Did you follow the link I posted above? It covers exactly what you are looking for under the 2D Surround section. Though it does look like you need an SLI setup when using GeForce 560Ti cards.

That is for 3D glasses only. I have that in my Nvidia Control Panel. From what I've read I need Dual view and it looks like Win7 doesn't support that with Nvidia.

Read the page a little closer. There is a section at the bottom for 2D Surround, which is what you are looking for. However, as I said above, it requires a SLI setup with GeForce 560TI cards.
