    Default Performance question

I'm fairly new at simming, but I've quickly become addicted and purchased qutie a bit of equipment. One example is a 3.4Ghz, i7 processor, 16gb ram, 1gb VGA, hdmi, dvi video card with independent cooling.

Having made an investment in hardware, I had expected more of an improvement in stability. I'm able to crank up the fps and enjoy some pretty decent graphics, but Flight Sim X with Accelleration crashes regularly. It just happened to me, thus prompting this post. As is normally the case, I was about 10 miles from landing on a fairly long flight and windows tellls me FSX has crashed and is restarting. It's quite frustrating.

I seem to remember reading that fsx is pretty old school and only uses one available processor. I also seem to remember seeing software that would fid that.

    Anyone have any suggestions?

Post #2 in this thread (and Noell's included links) should help you maximize FSX performance on your system. He briefly explains FSX multi-core support also.
