Computer hardware expert needed :)

Hey everybody,

I just recently got back into simming and I run FSX, however with a bunch of addons installed I am noticing that my FPS is not doing too well and it is getting annoying!
Here is my system specs:

> Mainboard : Asus P7P55D DELUXE
> Chipset : Intel P55
> Processor : Intel Core i5 750 @ 2666MHz
> Physical Memory : 4096MB (2 x 2048 DDR3-SDRAM )
> Video Card : ATI Radeon HD 5800 Series
> Hard Disk : Western Digital WD7501AALS-00J7B0 ATA Device (750GB)
> Operating System : Windows 7 Ultimate Professional Media Center 6.01.7601 Service Pack 1 (64-bit)

Based on my current build, which component of my computer do I need to upgrade in order to maximize my gaming and simming experience? Is my GPU (ATI Radeon HD 5870) being bottlenecked by my PSU or CPU?

Overclock your i5 750.
You should be able to hit 4.0GHz or thereabouts.
This will increase your FSX performance, your GPU is fine and will never* be a FSX bottleneck.

*Unless you plan on running four or more large monitors with high resolution(s).

Agreed. My system is virtually identical to yours and my i5 was the bottlneck... until I overclocked it to 4.1GHz.

What's your memory of your Video card? The rest of your PC would be fine for FSX.
