It might help if you provided a few more details - such as:

    a. Had you been able to run FSX before and this has just happened or have you never been able to start FSX?

    b. Where did you install FSX - under the default "Program files" or as is now highly recommend, in a location such as C:\FSGames or on another partition or another HD - i.e. anywhere other than under "Program files" ?

    c. Have you Googled that error message - in search of an explanation?

    d. What (if any) Service Packs (or Acceleration) for FSX have you installed?

Not sure about this one, but I think either that FSX is not properly installed (so a reinstall may be necessary). Alternatively, are you actually running fsx.exe (by that I mean are you clicking on a shortcut to something else?).

Another thing worth trying is running fsx in compatability mode.

If you do reinstall, try installing on the root of your C drive (or better still a different drive if you have one).

Thanks for the tips. I have found that if I click on the execute icon in the FSX files, it opens. But when I copy the execute icon to desktop it won't open. Any ideas on this?

Have you tried creating a shortcut to the FSX.exe file and placing that new shortcut on your Desktop?

Also, if using Win7, have you tried Right clicking the shortcut and under Properties and then Compatibility set it to "run as adminstrator" ??
