I have a list of liveries that will be made. No military liveries have been planned.

I wish I had 1 once of your talent!! this is a must buy for my hanger The DC3 always reminds me of the lovable crazy Captain H.M. "Howling Mad" Murdock from the ATeam.

    cheers

    Cheers David.

Have to say, they don't make shows like the A-Team anymore.

Any chance you could rework this as FSX payware?

It could definitely be reworked for FSX, but the mesh would have to be heavily optimized. FSX has a very hard time running a 3D mesh with more than 150 000 to 200 000 polygons. X-Plane can quite easily run a 1 million polygon mesh. The highest polygon mesh x plane has atm is 1.5 million. This DC-3, as it stands now, currently has about 250 000 polygons and that's without cockpit seats, overhead panel and cabin seating. Making rounded edges (like the edges for the nut and the smooth mesh flow of the trim wheel) takes a LOT of polygons to give it that machined metal, rounded appearance. To optimize it for FSX would mean getting rid of the polygons that give it this look. There are 3d applications that can do this automatically but then the textures and animations would need to be done from scratch and the flight model would have to be made. In saying that, I wouldn't say no to a flight model creator and developer wanting to port this over to FSX, but there is quite a bit of work involved.

I have a project I'm doing right now for FSX that is currently around 350,000 polys, and it works fine in FSX. My bigger problem is the ability of my rig to export it!
    Nice model you have there!

Can I just ask, what kind of hardware are you running? I can run a 1 million poly aircraft in x plane WITHOUT textures at 50fps give or take a few on my dual core E6750 and 1GB 9800GT. With 21 2048 textures, I can run a 350 000 poly aircraft at 30fps+ on medium settings in XP.
I know 3 payware developers in FSX and each of them have said going over 250 000 polygons in FSX is near insane when you plan on texturing the mesh unless you have some kind of beefy system.
I should have mentioned, without textures, it might be fine. When you start bringing in a whole set of 2048's or 4096's, that's when there might be some issues.
Of course, I could have been misinformed.

EDIT: And thanks for the comment on the model.
