    Default Logbook

    Hey all
I have this little problem with my logbook where it wont log flights all the time.
I fill it in then click OK but it still wont log the flight.
So i end up either putting in an entry when i fly again or do it using Notepad.
Can anybody help me with this?
    Thanx
    Aaron

    Hey Aaron,
I guess I'm not quite sure what the problem is. Do you have the option after ending your flight to fill out the log book, or does in not even go to the log book and just exit straight to Windows ? If it's the latter, there is on option in the settings to tick the box to record your flight in the log book upon exiting FS. If that's not your problem, sorry I misunderstood :)

Go into FS2002 folder, then flights folder, then my flts folder.....There, you will find your log book.......Right click the log book file, then select properties.....Uncheck Read Only, then Check Archive. Then select Apply......It now Works again!?

I'm running out of thoughts here Aaron; the log book is pretty straight forward. How many log books do you have ? If you have 2 or more, maybe the entry is going into one of the other ones (?) Check your log book and see how may log books you have ( you can create several log books ) - you may have inadvertently created a second log book and at times you entries are going into the other one rather than the main one. Just a thought.

Check it out & get back with us :)

    Aaron,

Just tryin to razz you, "PUNT" (didn't work)........American football.......

The only other thing to do, if you don't get a better reply, is to create a new log book in 2002 using the Add a Log Book option, in the section You and Bob discussed.

I have the same problem. I have FS2002 set to ask me for a logbook entry when I exit FS2002. When I make the entry and continue, FS2002 shutsdown to the desktop. And then when I view the logbook with Notepad or by going back into FS2002, the logbook entry is not there.

I've been working with M$, and they seem to not have a clue as to why this is happening. They suggested checking that the file attribute is not set to read only, which it is not. They suggested creating a new logbook, which I did, and which the problem kept on happening. They suggested re-installing, which I have done...about 10 times.

I know how you feel, it is very frustrating, especially since every other program that I have runs without a problem.
