    Default Saitek throttles..

    Hi all..

Was thinking about getting a second Saitek throttle unit and sell my CH Quadrent..
I have notised that with the standard one that came with my Yoke there are no replacement heads.. I fly mainly multi engine so unless a second set comes with enough heads to account for 2 units i may be a bit stuck unless saitek can help.

Their support has been amazing in the past for me, they sent me a new power unit free of charge for my joystick when it came with a mainland european power supply and not UK.

Unless I've got it wrong, you have one Saitek throttle quad that came with your Saitek yoke and you are thinking of adding another Saitek throttle quad. That being the case, your current quad has a black knob for throttle, a blue knob for prop and a red knob for mixture. If you buy another quad it will have the same. Then, all you do is pop the knobs off and put them back on as shown below:

I was thinking more along the lines of being able to configure the heads with spares..
like my ch has, it came with extra heads to enable you to have 4 throttles should you wish

Gotcha. You should be OK as the extra quad will come with extra knobs.
I'm not sure what came with what but after purchasing the yoke with a quad and then an extra quad, I now have four blacks, three blues and three reds.

When I purchased my second quadrant it came with 2 red, 2 blue and 3 black.

That gave me a total of 3 red, 3 blue and 4 Black, the same a Noell.

I also received a single long black which is like having 4 black glued together. (Sort of defeats the point of having separate throttles, so I never use it.)

Just looked in the box the extra quad came in and I have one of those long black plastic thingys too. On top, it looks like its moulded to fit four fingers and on the bottom it has three spaces so you can gang three levers together.
Have no idea, though, why anyone would want to do that.

Can I just ask why you're ditching the CH quadrant for the Saitek setup? What don't you like about the CH job?

    Cheers,

    Mike

I don't dislike the CH units, They have seen me through 4-5 years of my simming. I just prefer the feel and movement range of the Saitek ones and them being mounted lower.
I ordered it this afternoon with next day delivery.
I have two whole days off so I can get some hardcore flying in as the missus will be at work. Which is a double pluss good
