Does anybody know of a free alternative to FS Panel Studio that can design panels for FSX.
The short answer is No, there is not a freeware alternative.
Buy FS Panel Studio. It is the best 25 bucks you will ever spend on an FS add on.

There used to be one at least. I'm trying to find it myself. I had one years ago before I had a 3 or so year break from the game. Unfortunately I lost it all and it's very difficult getting/finding old tools and stuff to download again.
CFG Edit. It's gone. It was the precurser to FSPS...Don

For placing gauges on a bitmap I also use Photoshop which gives you x,y coordinates of the cursor on the image.
Makes placing gauges go pretty quick as this process gets them close, then tweak them as needed to get perfect placement.
I would assume other image editors have this capability.
Works for me, never saw the need for FSPS, though I understand many love it.
Spent the $30 on UT instead, hehe.
