Thread: FSX Acceleration Problems

  1. Default FSX Acceleration Problems

Hello. I have FSX. after i install the acceleration expansion pack, i No longer have a "Multiplayer" Tab on the left side menu. It is there when Acceleration is not installed, and i can play online also. But when i install acceleration, it just disappears. Also during the acceleration install process, it does NOT ask me for a product key, I have a feeling this has something to do with the problem, Does anyone know how to fix this?
    I have Windows Vista 64 bit SP2
    Thanks

All I can tell you is that I still have the multiplayer option after installing Acceleration, so you are probably right about it being a problem with the Acceleration installation.

Seems to me that you are stuck in trial mode. Trial mode disables multiplayer as well as only allowing the sim to run for 10-15 minutes at which point it pops up a block saying, trial time completed please activate now.

Seeing this right now myself because I was smart enough to keep all the discs together in the original fsx box, but forgot that the acceleration pack itself required activation so no longer have the key for that. Personally it seems that my only options are to uninstall the acceleration pack and smash the cd in to many small pieces or buy the deluxe edition all over again because I do not think it is any longer possible to just buy a key for the acceleration pack. sigh.

It might be worth contacting Microsoft as this is old software now & I don't think they are so bothered about it & if it is a legitimate copy they may isue you a key.nothing ventured nothing gained. I have acceleration on win 7 64 bit & had no isues installing it.

That will be precisely why you have the problem now - the old installation was probably registered, but now it isn't. If you are not getting the registering FX bar when loading the sim you will probably need to re-register the Acceleration installation. This should be automatic.

If not, it's is usually caused by not properly uninstalling FSX the correct way in the first place.

I cannot get my FSX Acceleration Expansion Pack installed on my Windows 7 32bit computer! FSX [Gold Edition] goes on fine but not X Pack. I have done everything, clean-boots, compatibility runs, you name it - it just won't install. I get this installation message that flashes, goes away and then nothing. I have used the Microsoft FixIts to try to resolve it - nothing works. Any suggestions? HELP!!!
