Default Saitek Flight controller and Suncom Flight controller

I have both of these flightstick\throttle combos. I have not tried them with MS Flight Simulator pro, and I have a couple of questions.

I am running Windows XP with MS Flight Simulator 2002 Pro. I know that I cannot the controllers with XP, because they are gameport driven, not USB. I am willing to drop back to Windows98 to use these controllers.

My question is, do I take a performance hit at all by dropping back to Windows98? Is anyone out there using these controllers, and are they satisfied with the functions?

    Thanks!

Yeah I have the Saitek and also 98SE and I am happy with the performance, I programmed all the buttons and they all work fine!

    Anything else??

I'm running a "wierd" combo of USB & gameport equipment with Windows XP & FS2002 Pro. Thrustmaster gameport pedals & a Saitek X45 stick/throttle combo. I managed to tie the pedals to my old Saitek 3D Digtial stick (non-USB) to use the gameport, yet program the new stick to work with FS2002. But, I'm able to use the 3D Digital also. So, I suppose anything is possible!
