    Default Tornado's Challenge and Weather

In an attempt to not overload the Around the World Challenge post, I've posted this question seperate. I would love to pick up the virtual baton, but I am unable to get Real-World Weather to work.

If I choose Global Weather and hit the Real World Weather download button, I get a "Timed Out" message.

If I choose Local Weather and hit the Real World Weather download button, I get the "hour glass" symbol and nothing is downloading... after several minutes I wind up having to Ctrl+Alt+Delete to get out.

Any suggestions? I am running FSUIPC if that makes a difference.

    Thanks, Tom

Hi. I read somewhere that FSUIPC can crash FS when using/downloading real weather. My advice would be to uninstall FSUIPC and try downloading the weather then.

Never had a FS crash with real weather/FSUIPC combo here. Though that is me, not saying its never happended. I'm runnig the newest FSUIPC 2.87 too.

Anyway to the problem, Do you run a firewall? Its the only thing I can think of off the top of my head.

Not sure about the firewall, as I'm not sure what one is... outside of house construction, that is.

But, could it be my security setting for Internet Explorer? Below, is a shot of my settings if it helps any.

    Thanks, Tom

Never mind, it appears to be working now. However, one neat thing and one wierd thing.

Neat thing: Some clouds appear to have more colour to them, ie., pinks and purples.

Wierd thing: Upper layer of clouds ends abruptly along a line thereby producing an ethereal horizon of sorts (see shot). Probably has something to do with the added upper layer of cirrus in FSUIPC... will turn it off and see if it works.

    Thanks for the help, Tom
