Default Need help - Font Error messages FS2002

I would like to turn to others to solve my problem (below).

After I have been happily flying with FS2002 Pro edition,
and having uninstalled some programs from FS2002
(Wilco's 767 PIC and its patch), FS2000 and some
applications I was using with FS2000 (Roger Wilco,
Ear Candy II, etc), I am now seeing Font Error messages
after I click the desktop short cut to start FS2002.

    Specifically,
** Font "quartz" (-22) isn't found; using "Terminal" instead **
** Font "quartz" (-16) isn't found; using "MS Serif" instead **
    ** I can't remember exactly, but some PIC767 font is missing **

With the error messages, I'd simply click the "OK" or
"ignore" buttons or press "esc" to by pass all of these.
FS2002 starts up without problems, but it is irritating
to go through all of this everytime.

If this may shed some light on my situation; font used for
my DreamFleet 737-400 auto pilot is clearly different from
the ones it used before all the installing I had done.

Of note, I did the font cache cleaning to no avail.

    Any advice would be appreciated.....

    Thank you in advance

Look in your fs2002\fonts folder for the following fonts:
    arialnb.ttf
    arialnbi.ttf
    glassga.ttf
    quartz.ttf

If missing, retrieve from your CDs using Winzip or another unzipping program. Search the *.cab files for the fonts. As for PIC font, try searching your fs2002.cfg file for this font and delete it from the list, if present. If not, you may be using a panel that uses this font. You would need to replace the panel.

    Mr. Sieffert,

    Thank you for your feedback.
When you say "retrieve from your CDs using Winzip",
    you mean the FS2002 CD?

The fs2002/fonts folder is empty at this moment.

Retrieve the files by opening up the .cab files on the CDs with Winzip then extracting them to the fonts folder. I am not sure which one it is in but just sort by type in WinZip and look for the .ttf endings.

I looked in the FS2002 disks (all three of them)
using WinZip, and I was unable to locate any .ttf
files. I seem to be missing the exact fonts that
    Mr.Sieffert mentioned above.

Am I using the WinZip incorrectly somehow?(I am new to WinZip).
Or, am I looking at the wrong places?

I did find some sort of exe file that contained "CAB" as
the first few letters of its file name.

    Hmm....

Extract these, scroll down until you are just below all of the FLT and WX files.

    arialnb.ttf
    arialnbi.ttf
    glassga.ttf
    quartz.tff

    Fred,

Thank you so much for the graphics example.
I was able to locate them, and placed them in my
    FS2002/Font folder.

I will try restarting the FS.

Thank you for all that commented to help my problem with the
fonts. Your solutions DID solve the problem I was experiencing
for the past few months. Thanks to you, I no longer have to press
the "esc" button multiple times at a black screen before I
    start my FS2002.

I sincerely appreciate your spirit of sharing the knowledge.

I hope to be able to return the similar contributions for
the flight simulation community, which you have shown me here.

    Thank you

You’re very welcome, I had the same problem as you and learned about it here several months ago.

The knowledge I have gained from the others here is amazing.
