For those of you who are still using FS2002, and would like to do the Amelia Earhart last flight, I offer the following information:

Howland Island does not show up on the map view, or in the GPS window, but the island is there if and when you get there.

The Electra of choice to download for this flight is the FS2004 file l10eae01.zip, which contains two versions of the plane, one with a modern panel and one with a more historic Sperry panel. Both versions have a functioning virtual cockpit.

In both cases, not all of the gauges will work in FS2002, so some will have to be replaced. If you do the replacing yourself, remove the Cambridge fuel analyzer. If you do not, the autopilot will change heading in 10 degree increments instead of one degree. Note that the drift meter and sextant will not work in FS2002.

I have done the modifications, and will forward the aircraft.cfg and panel.cfg files upon request.
