Thread: World of AI on Windows 7 x64?

  1. Default World of AI on Windows 7 x64?

I cant seem to get this to work, I am using installer 2.4 and i use the installer, which says that it has been installed. When i load up FSX it says "Loading Scenery.. etc." but i cant see the airplanes in free flight or any of the missions. If any can please help me it would be appreciated. I am sorry if this has been covered before, i used the search feature to no avail.

Firstly, you wont see WOAI in Missions, only free flight. When you check to see if they are showing, which airport do you go to?. Remember that certain airlines will not be at certain airports..eg you wont see Jet Blue at Memphis. I suggest you try installing a British airways package and go to London Heathrow, and see if it has loaded.
Are you running the installer as Administrator?. There is an expert button, in the installer, for FSX that shows all airlines that are currently loaded into WOAI (pretty sure it's named expert)
Good luck with this, WOAI works great for me on Win 7 .

Not true. WoAI can be seen in missions, at least in some I've flown (the Tokyo Learjet mission for example). Surprised me as well.

To OP: check your user account rights and check the installation path.

Don't mean to hijack this thread, but since it is apparently the same problem I will post as well.
I followed the suggestion here, installed BA, went to London and nothing. Uninstalled the WOAI BA package, reinstalled it and still no planes. I am running the installer as administrator, the installer shows the package loaded, FSX has the woai within simobjects/aircraft.
I have installed the same in FS9 and the aircraft does show. What is going on?????

I have tried posting within WOAI forums, but it was discouraging to see that besides me there was no one else logged in the forum section.

OK, this might be your solution, try it and let us know if that works for you. You need to go to settings in FS9 and uncheck "aircraft cast shadows", that will let you see the AI. For some reason that is a problem within WOAI and the posted solution board suggested that. It worked for me

check in your scenery/world/scenery folder for Traffic_000_WoA files and if there aren't any then you are doing something wrong

This may seem way to obvious but...do you have your Airline Traffic Density set up to a high enough level? I keep mine at 90% and I see more WoAI traffic than I want to sometimes. Especially when I'm holding short or while I "line up and wait" as they say now.
