Default You may no longer fly the friendly skies!

Captain Sim has just made the skies, sea, and land a very unfriendly domain in FSX! For the first time ever you can now attack and blow up any form of traffic in the air, on the sea, or on the ground! I just got this email this morning with small details on a new product just released by them. Its a weapon mod that can literally target an object, fire a missile at it, then depending on the strike it will disable it partially until the stress factors fall in and totally alienate the target. Sick but lets all admit it we have wanted a modern day combat sim and Microsoft never delivered. Now every warplane or helicopter in the sim can have this weapon system on board!

Now it is as real as it gets!

    - Sam

p.s.: we don't condole violence in the friendly skies, but it sure is cool to see things go BOOM! If they only could do a version for FS9 lol!

http://www.vrsimulations.com/tacpack.htm ofcourse someoneelse did it better! I saw a utbe link to this product in developement and looks more lethal than Captain sims! But looks like someone really got tired of no new Combat Sims and brought it sim instead! Yes Tac Pack also shoots down real world flights, so please dont get trigger happy! Only with the Presidents direct order to do so please!

This is wicked and on their F18 Super Bug this weapon system is wicked! Video here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2zfE_...layer_embedded

I saw this was released yesterday, I have had a quick look and feel a bit let down.
The symbology is not as standard as it should be, it all looks a bit lazy to be fair.
Here was an opportunity to give us Time On Target, Time Early Late, CCRP and other modes that are derigour in modern HUDs.
Sure they would be difficult in FSX, but come on, this is a poor example of a HUD that VRS Superbug has already given us.
Its nothing new, and that is really disappointing.
Heh ho, I suppose that a few years back we'd have loved to see this innovative idea, but today its pretty old hat.
I also noticed that it has the same desktop installer used with Captain Sim Weather Radar, has anyone made sure that this time it works with a 64 bit system?

I agree that this is an old idea that should have been done a very long time ago! To be honest the Captain Sim version is rather flat compared to the VRS version! The many combinations of loadout types make the VRS version more interesting! It may be an old idea but I might be one of those trigger happy types thats going to enjoy shooting down aircrafts in no fly zones! I will be keeping my eye out for Bob in his GA aircrafts! I think I high speed fly by should do the job, no sense in wasting a missile when a gust of wind can probably get the job done! lol

Yes thats what it is good for, trigger happy types. However FSX is being embraced industry wide, and for those old stick in the muds who think 5th genreation aircraft are akin to a Lightning with an even more powerful engine, this was an opportunity to educate and demonstrate true fifth generation avionics. Instead we have yet another shoot them up. VRS is an awesome piece of kit that deserves more coverage than it gets. 30 years in the industry and even I learnt a thing or two from VRS. Captain Sim have really let me and all of my colleagues who are sick of the ignorance in the industry....down.

FSX will never be a combat sim unless you can program the AI to evade and try to shoot you down as well.
