    Question Runway use

    Hello,
I´ve been working on just making FSX airports more realistic for quite a long time now. Using ADEx, I can actually do all the things I want - except one:
As it can be seen at some airports with a single concrete runway, the aircraft take off and land in different directions (e.g.: landing rwy 35C, TO rwy 17C).

I´ll use the rwy 17C/35C as an example:
In the pattern window, I select "No" for landing at the 17C, I keep "Yes" selected for TO.
For the 35C, I select "Yes" for landing and "No" for TO.

Actually, that should be okay, I think? When I compile the airport and then watch the AI Traffic, I see that ATC shuts down 17C/35C and leads the 747,
A321 etc. to the short grass rwys 35L/R what doesn´t look really good.
Is there a possible solution for that?

Have you tried selecting "no" for TO and landing on the grass runways?

I don't believe this is possible in FSX -- at least not with the FSX SDK tools. For the case of a single runway, winds will govern which end gets used. TO and landing will occur at the same end unless the winds shift while an AI is landing such that AI on the ground will taxi to the opposite end. In this case you may see one or two opposite end uses.

@ Art_P: Yes, then there isn´t traffic anymore at all.
@kagazi: Hm. That´s what I thought. I know that normally they use the same end for TO and LDG, but e.g. at my hometown airport (LOWG) they take off on the 17 and land on the 35 for noise reduction, otherwise they´d have to overfly the city.
It´s a pity that that doesn´t work in FSX..
    Thx for your replies

Well there's another one for the database of things you would think you could do per options in the SDK but that won't happen in FSX.
