    Default RTW Retro Flight #21 Mandalay to Calcutta . . . . . . . . . 1962

    Indian Airlines flight 317 is a DC-3 flying fom Mandalay Burma to Calcutta, India’s Dum Dum airport (VYCZ - VECC). We have 500 gallons of fuel onboard and the flight time is about two hours and nineteen minutes for the 489 mile trip. We expect fair-weather with moderate cloud cover en route.

    Thanks to:

    11. After about twenty minutes we have crossed the mountain peaks and are descending back to ten thousand feet.

    12. Just passed the southern tip of Mizoram Province of India we are now just south of Chittagong, East Pakistan (now Bangladesh) nearing the far northern part of the Bay of Bengal.

    Marvelous flight, pics and commentary. The brief caption for each picture makes you feel like so much more a part of the flight. I always enjoy your retro flights.
