This is not that type of sim. Sorry. Need a combat simulator for that. Unless you are using an add-on aircraft that speciffically supports it - You give very little info to go on. More needed.

Flour Power is the only mission that lets you drop a bomb so to speak.

There is a specific add-on called "FSX weapons" or something like that. However, as Johnny said, FSX is not a military sim: by using that add-on you will be able to drop bombs and shoot missiles (really unguided rockets, as there is no guidance system...) and in order to do that, you need to start your flight, then save it, then edit manually a save file game. Not exactly user-friendly.

Thanks Paolo - I stand corrected on the above add-on . But I know there are planes like the hornet superbug that do, and others - the o.p. just isn't speciffic what he's using, making it difficult to diagnos the problem - Thanks for the clarity on that other add-on....

That add-on is kind of universal, even a Cessna could drop bombs... Not the best of realism!

But as you said there are an handful of aircrafts which can really "shoot" something. The SuperBug and the Mirage from Rollus are the only ones capable of shooting missiles without some kind of editing. Others (e.g. some RazBam models) have bombs that disappear after launch, but unless I am mistaken you need to do the save/edit trick to drop them.

Yeah, that makes it harder for the end user, and wonder, is it really worth all the extra effort? I know I wouldn't put up with the hassle....to each his own I guess.

I found that the "cowl open" command drops bombs and missles and the 'cowl closed' command fires the cannon. I have a couple button on the joystick setup for those. As far as I can tell, wen you fire the missles, if you are locked on, it will track the aircraft and you'll hear an "explosion" when the missle gets to it, but whether or not you actually damage it, I don't think so. My son tells me that you will get an engine fire, but I don't know.

The Iris A-10 Warthog can drop bombs using a saved game scenario...they even provide the code you need and where to insert it. I found it quite easy to do, and with the multiple views they provide you can see your damage from any angle. They suggest the max number of 14 since that's the actual aircraft loadout, but I use 99 since once I start bombing I can't stop.....
