    Default (Bob Azzaro's C-IPEE) FSX - I.C.P. Savannah UltraLight flies in FS2004

I was a little hesitent to try this one out as I have loaded other FSX aircraft into FS2004 and got squat, but I reasoned if you dont try you will never know, so I downloaded and tested it anyway. Well it works the only anomaly is that it is a little bouncy and skittish on the ground (Nothing a little tweaking on the Air file or swapping airfiles with a similar aircraft can't fix I am sure). Once up in the air however she flies like she is supposed to and flaps etc are fully functional. So all you Peerhoven Pilots can go fly C-IPEE in FS2004. I also tested in FS2002 unfortunately the aircraft doesnt show up but the cockpit is functional and as you can see from the pics it does fly although displyaing the same skitishness as in FS2004. If you dont mind not seeing the aircraft you can still fly it in FS2002 personaly I prefer being able to see what I fly

Nice job Rory. If you want to test the aerodynamics here's something you can try. In FSX as in the real world it is nearly impossible to stall this plane.
Start in the air at 2000 ft or so. Turn the engine off but leave the magnetos on to run the flaps (electric in FS - mechanical in the real plane) slowly pull the nose up until speed drops below 60 mph. Apply full flaps and keep pulling the nose up. At this point you can trim the nose all the way up (the trim indicator will stop long before the actual trimming will so keep going) At this point you should be floating to the ground at about 35 mph 500 fpm. Aim for a treeless spot and It'll land itself. — Bob

Jan I want as many Peerhoven birds to be multifunctional as possable Thats why Rohan has the important job of finding fixes for all our FS2004 birds to fly in FSX and by the same token I will try find ways of reverse fitting FSX to FS2004. Also there are whispers of one of our members starting up fs98 paints in the near future.

Bob I did notice that this thing seems to behave almost like an autorotating gyrocopter in a stall but I just pushed it over into a forced nosedive and tried some airobatics but I will try that flap thing it sounds cool.

Rory... You might want to have a gander at this:

FS2002 Savannah ICP MXP740 ultralight, with Rotax 912 80 hp engine. Belongs to Serres Aero Club. The Savannah owes its success to its great dependability and ease of piloting. Its S.T.O.L. performances make it easy to operate from any airfield. In addition, the Savannah is a very good airplane for cross-country flights during which one can appreciate its great stability. Model by Massimo Taccoli. Panel, sound, texture and .air file by Maximos Sevastopoulos.

I haven't tried it yet, but it could be an option.

    Cheers!

    Alan

Allan thank you for the info I will follow up on saturday It may be a simple matter of transposing textures with a bit of luck. Keep your fingers crossed Allan you might be flying Bobs repaint very soon.

Guys My father underwent an 18 hour opperation and was out of theatre at 2am South African time, They dont know if they got it all but they say that if any is left Chemo will be the next step.

Allan I have put everything on hold except things that only take up limited time unfortunately your two repaints are requiring axtensive time as is Darrens Carribean repaint. I am not abbandoning them they are just on hold untill life returns to normal I hope you understand its quite hectic for me at the mo my mom it unable to move as a result of her spine problem my father is battling Cancer my wife is fighting the remaining disabilities resulting from her Menangitus and I am the only able bodied person trying to hold the fort at the mo.

    Rory,

There are times when certain things take precedence over others; this is definitely one of those instances. Don't even concern yourself about my repaints. They're insignificant compared with what needs your attention at the moment. I'll be hoping and keeping my fingers crossed that everything with your parents turns out for the best. Remember... we're here for you.

    Alan

Thank you Allan the reason I make the effort to come here as often as practicality allows is because no matter how heavy the burdons of real world issues are there are some amazing people who form another family where I can come to relax even if only for a little while so to all my freinds here at flightsim God bless every one of you, without you guys I would lose the last vestages of sanity left to me.

Yes they are Steve its so good to be able to fly someone elses repaints for Peerhoven and Bobs work is top notch.

Some good news seems they got all the cancer but now its a matter of keeping an eye on his recovery as he is not out of the woods yet.
