    Default English Electric Lightning

Just been watching Clarkson explaining to his Mrs just why he bought one as a garden ornament - can anyone recommend a good one for FS2002? Seen a couple for FS98 which are pretty good for then, but they don't match the current stuff obviously. Any pointers? And if not - do any g-max designers fancy putting some heat back in the long forgotten Cold War and building this true classic. I for one would be grateful - as I'm sure most Brits over 30 would be!

The classic silver is the prefered colour scheme if pos. Ta...

This Brit over 30 has been watching the following site for one that's in development:

    http://cygnus-aw.com/

I'll never forget an airshow in my childhood when 4 Lightnings came over the fence at Mach .95 (we were told) and stood on their tails on full reheat for 30,000 feet. Beats having a dead one on the front lawn!

Clarkson (a British TV auto journalist with a fairly dry wit): You knew what I was like when you married me.

Francie (the Mrs): Why didn't I marry someone else?

The furrows it made in the lawn when they towed it into place were pretty ##### deep. She was not best chuffed!

Stub and Tornado - I'll be checking out those links pronto...

Tornado: If you're Wolves I share your pain, if you're Baggies then well done and good luck (albiet a little grudgingly!)

not quite but nearly - grew up with Telford Utd as my local team (yes - during the 'Giant Killing' Stan Storton days of the 80s, playing at Goodison and the Baseball Ground, etc). Wolves was always my second team but as I have lived away for the last 15 years they are a lot easier to follow than a none league side so now they are my team. Gutted this year but not surprised! I work in the West Mids on ops every now and then but now live in Liverpool and work in Manchester. At least having to visit the airport on a regular basis means I can watch the planes
