Exactly Paolo I am sure that of those 19 maybe only about 7 would be for fs9 and as I pointed out earlier 7 out of 67,041 are really small odds, surely one could find far more then 7 freeware versions available in fact I know you can because I am constantly downloading sound tweaks among others for my birds.

In fact, all of Aaron Swindle's Shareware soundsets are on here as well too. So what's the big deal really? I don't see the problem. It's a file hosting site, period. Freeware or Shareware. There IS a disclaimer before you download too. Read it.

The following is the download disclamier:

NOTICE: Although the file you are about to download is FREE, it contains copyrighted material. In some cases the developers have multiple restrictions on the use of these files and we ask that you read them carefully. These copyrights belong to the respective developers and must be followed under copyright law. Some files are distributed as shareware which means they are not to be used without payment or purchase to the original developer after a trial evaluation period. Please be sure you do not violate these restrictions. FlightSim.Com appreciates your help in supporting the developers who

err...dont see why all the fuss from a first time poster.
Wouldnt happen if he was compulsory locked in a specific Forum for the first twenty (stupid) posts.
I know...some guys are clever and do not make such posts even if its their first...good for you!
    but statistic tell the majority...

it is my understanding that the contents are monitored , as much as possible, to assure that no virus/malware/trojan is part of an upload. the readme is also to be confirmed to assure it has the author name and contact email.

'mgh', have you read someplace the above practice is no longer being done?

Anyway, I've never come across any such files.
Here you go: This is from the library: FS2004/FSX Continental Twin Engine Sounds. Super high quality soundset for big twins that is enjoyable to the ear, plus all the usual bells and whistles inside and out. These are actual recorded engine sounds, not remakes or sound alikes. Utilizes the FlightOne Wrapper system for download and install. Also available through PayPal. See readme for all instructions. $12.00 U.S. By Aaron R. Swindle Skysong Soundworks.

]Search this as an example, there'll be a ton by the author. Does good work, not bashing in any way. We all know him.

The moderators here have absolutely nothing to do with the file library. Nels is the guy who handles that, and he personally scans all files for viruses. He's also the one who monitors and approves/disapproves any and all files that are hosted here.

My mistake. But even so payware appears to have slipped though and I suggest that it isn't worth the time effort to prevent it completely. I would think Nels has got lots to do anyway.

I agree. it's up to the individual whether they want to pay for something up front to try out, or not to.

For me... as far as payware and shareware is concerned it's pretty much a moot point, since there isn't much of anything available anymore for FS 2002. I can see how it be pretty important for someone using FS 9 or FSX, though.

I do have a point to raise, though...

Mangoes started his FlightSim Forum experience out with a question (or rather, an opinion) about something he saw here. It's a FORUM, folks... a place where people can ask questions, or voice opinions. As the sticky in Newcomer Services says, "There's no such thing as a stupid question". If the question (or opinion) is something you don't agree with, then make a comment; if you don't have something good to say, the best thing is not to say it.

It's just that the smack talk from some on this site is getting quite tiring, and it reeks of the "good ol' boys" club... more experienced simmers vs. new simmers. We're ALL here for the enjoyment of the hobby, and to find folks with common interests. The least we can do is to show some common courtesy.

Who am I, you ask? Well to be quite honest... nobody.

    Just my meager 2¢ worth...
