Thread: cancelled IFR again!

    Default cancelled IFR again!

I hate to ask this, FS8 is rather intolerant if you don't perform fast enough for ATC's IFR instructions, so my IFR's have been getting cancelled on a regular basis. In fs9 if this happens I just redo the same flight plan then when it asks if I want to move the plane to the starting airport I say "No" and I continue on my way with a restored IFR. How do I do that with fs8? It automatically moves my plane from 35,000 feet for example down to the airport runway again.

Here's an example, I was flying I think from Marseille to Santa Maria for hours over the ocean in the darkness "VFR" because my IFR got cancelled for not reaching altitude fast enough. This photo was when the sun finally rose above the horizon.

It's been ages since I've flown FS2002 but I clearly remember having this problem as well. It's the way FS8 was designed. AFAIK it can't be fixed. Sorry, dude. Hope you have some luck next time.

I have found out that if I have time acceleration on, this happens frequently. It's also happened when I'm not paying much attention (i.e. had my earphones out).
